Sunflowers on the Ranch!

The sunflower field is now open to reserve for photography!

The field will be open from August 1st through August 10th with the possibility of extending through the 13th.

Our Services

When do bookings start?

Bookings for our field start in late July to early August but the timing of the bloom is high dependent on weather. It will be different every year even though we will plant around the same time. We will advertise and open bookings with as much notice as we can possibly provide photographers. We know that this makes for a short turnaround for photographers to book clients, but Mother Nature can be unpredictable! The flowers don’t give us much notice once they start to mature! The 2025 Season has been easier on us than last year so our field is a bit more full and our blooms are a little taller than they were last year!

How Long do Sunflowers Bloom?

Sunflowers bloom for about a 10-14 day window. The best blooms will be in the middle of our booking window. At the beginning of the booking window you may notice that there are sections that are not blooming as well as others- the field is 4 acres in total so there are typically plenty of beautiful blooms to move between. Toward the end of our booking window, you may notice that some of the flowers look a bit “crispy.” The blooms still bring great color and add a different and more rustic aesthetic to photos! The photo at the top of our page is of our family at the end of the season and I love the rustic look of the photo.

What should I expect?

We are excited to provide an assortment of props available to everyone who books with us. Props include vintage chairs and stools, wood boxes, an old farm truck, a yellow Victorian sofa, a tub set-up for milk baths for the littles (please bring your own bath liquid if desired), a claw foot bathtub set, old fencing sections, etc. You can never go wrong with a simple closeup in the field surrounded by sunflowers but it’s great to have something extra to work with!

Is the Ranch open to the Public during Sunflower Season?

We are NOT open for general tourism during the Sunflower Season as we typically are during the Pumpkin Patch or for Easter. We ask that you please not wander the Ranch during your booking time (and also remind clients of this).

We frequently have projects and construction in progress during this time as we get ready for our Fall Season, and ask that you please keep to the barn and sunflower field areas.

*** Out of respect to other photographers and to eliminate the temptation to wander, we ask that clients show up 5 minutes prior to their booking time and leave promptly at the end of their session.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, we have to ask that you leave your pets at home. We are offering add-on photography bookings with a few of our farm animals (including a calf, pony, and bunnies). Dogs can sometimes exhibit a predatory reaction to farm animal when not specifically socialized to these types of animals. We want everyone to have the best experience possible.

“Blooms Only” Sunflower Field Reservation

This link is intended for professional photographers or looking to book clients for mini sessions utilizing only our gorgeous blooms as their backdrop. Each reservation is 55-minutes, and photographers are welcome to bring in their own props. This booking does not include a reservation with a photographer- this booking reserves use of the sunflower field for professions and non-professionals the Ranch.
